Design Models

Instructional design can relate to building a learning experience, the creation of media, or the development of learning systems. There are different models that can be used.

Some are specific to creation of media or development of learning systems eg. Spiral Model while others are more applicable to a learning experience eg The ASSURE model , some can be used for all eg. Rapid Protyping

Based on the different models in the Instruction design website, it is common to first analyse the learners and set out some form of objective, design and implementation and then perform some kind of evaluation. Some models, like the Iterative model makes allowances to revisit and revise the initial step and then refine the implementation stages after the evaluation process.
